[Inx] Webchat for INX, plus Small Update Real Soon (ha!)

Hello all,

Just a quick note to let you know that there is now a direct link on
the main INX site for chatting on the #inx IRC channel ("chat room"). :)

It's at the bottom of the page on http://inx.maincontent.net
Or, if you feel adventurous, click on this:

http://webchat.freenode.net/?randomnick=1&channels=inx&prompt=1

That link should open Freenode's new Webchat page, and if you go ahead
you will land in the INX channel, with a weird random nickname ;)

If you want to change the "nick" you can do so, by the way, before
proceeding, or once connected just type /nick 'newnick' where 'newnick'
is substituted with your desired nickname.

Seems to work quite well :) Note that #inx is not exactly active 24/7,
but since the majority of regulars are based in Australia you might
want to check time zones... I keep logs, so whatever you say will be
seen, in the case where you get no replies. Hang around for a while if
you can. Someone might wake up ;-)

In other news, i have over the last few days been looking at INX code
again more closely. I hope to make a few updates this week, if possible.
There are at least two identified issues with the "radio" stations -
Virgin Rock has moved and is using some odd system that refuses even
to play from a browser, and BBC-3 now has the ugliest rtsp:// URL in the
known universe... I'll see what can be done about Virgin, but I think I
will substitute a different station, preferably one that uses Ogg Vorbis
like the old Virgin one, but that remains to be seen.

If I have time I will also make some changes to the menus, and
reorganise some directory structures. Since there has been no feedback
on the first attempts to include options for the sight-impaired, (see
the /devel directory on inx.maincontent.net), I'm pretty much stuck
there...

There is an embryonic "update-inx" script, but it isn't safe for
humanity yet ;) If possible, I'll get that running soon too - it would
mean people could tweak their session to include changes without having
to download a new ISO.

Peter
